Germantown Friends SchoolUpon my arrival at GFS in the summer of 2013, I cleared out and setup a scenic shop in an old gym previously used for storage. The shop served as my teaching space for instructing students as young as 8 years old in scene construction and stagecraft. Beginning in 8th grade, I instructed students through high school in building scenery for theatrical and musical performances. I also taught January-Term classes in which students would construct professionally-designed sets and then assist in loading them into professional Philadelphia theatres.

Let's Make a Squeal!Pig Iron Theatre's 2018 Annual benefit Concert, hosted at Philadelphia's historic Trocadero Theatre, was built by Germantown Friends high school students as part of a collaboration during the school's January Term, in which normal classes are suspended and students and teachers are encouraged to pursue new areas of interest. From the designs given to me by set designer Michael Minahan, I engineered construction drawings, from which I taught students how to build to industry standards.

In 2010 I rebuilt and rigged a new fly system for the original show after touring it to the Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Since then the show has toured to Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC |
