Dark Space, 2009
Performer, designer and puppeteer, Kate Brehm and I collaborated on this Grant-funded installation performance that blended, puppetry, mazes and dance to create visually-stunning, psychedelic experience. The New York based theater organization, Chashama, provided us with a midtown storefront that we transformed in a few weeks into this limited-performace installation venue aptly named, Dark Space.
Prelude to a Death in Venice, 2007
I began this project after meeting Lee Bruer while he was touring Peter and Wendy in DC at the Arena Stage. He asked me to build a model for a show he was thinking about doing in Ireland. After several models, designs and mockups I found myself in an unoccupied industrial space outside of Kilkenny, Ireland building the set I designed without any electricity or running water. Funny how the most random meetings can bring you to the strangest places.
